G-Hey Kim
G-Hey Kim wears many hats, she is a director, writer, actor, and producer.
She was born in South Korea, and earned a bachelor of arts in creative writing and an associate degree in theater there. She wanted to broaden her horizons and expand her mind, so she took a leap of faith and moved to Canada in 2010. After living there for around 2 years, she came to realize that it was a good place to build her career, and decided to became a permanent resident of Canada. In 2015, she got her permanent resident card. The following year, she attended the Advanced Television and Film Program at Centennial College.
In 2017, as a college student, she made the short film "Don't Click", which was written, directed, produced and starred in by her. It's a 5-min horror film about the disconnect to criminal and pornographic violence when viewed over the Internet. The short film found great success on the festival circuit, garnering a number of nominations and awards at festivals across the world including Oregon Scream Week in Portland, the Asians on Film Festival in Los Angeles and the Blood in the Snow Canadian Film Festival in Toronto. Early in 2018, Vortex Words + Pictures saw bigger things for her short film and wanted her to direct a feature-length version. Since then, she has worked on the project as the director. She is very excited that it's release in the near future.
She wants to continue working on other feature film projects, but is also very interested in making short films as well. It doesn't matter how long a film is, she is always trying to make ground breaking movies with a compelling story based on innovative, and imaginative ideas and concepts.
